Lobster Mashed Potatoes. That's really all you need to know but I'll humor you with a full review:

First things first- the food is amazing. I highly recommend the scallops, the mahi mahi, and the lamb osso bucco. For appetizers the Ahi tuna is out of this world. The freshest fish, perfectly seared. They also have an amazing spicy tuna tempura roll. It gets even better: they just added a raw bar. I find that even when a restaurant has good food- sometimes their desserts are shipped in and just so-so. Osetra has amazing tiramisu- so light and airy, and an almond cranberry tart just melts in your mouth.

Every person at Oestra, from the hostess, to the servers, bartenders, food runners and bus boys provides exemplary service. They are attentive but not intrusive.

I've been three times in the past year, and the service and the quality never waiver. This is my favorite place to go for a nice dinner in the Gaslamp.
